Recommend me a 20” sub MOA barrel

I currently have the AA 18” lite barrel and it shoots moa but I’m wanting something to shoot a little tighter groups. Right now I’m just using factory Hornady Sst and black ammunition. Will be used for hunting coyotes and hogs at max 300 yards and punching paper. Thanks for the suggestions.

Krieger has a 20", 6.5mm barrel. Choice of twist rates; 1:8, 1:8.5 and 1:9. for $350. I imagine the profile includes the gas block journal and port to have it on their AR15 section. They chamber and finish for extra.

Lilja has a 20" 1:8 twist they call the '740', ready-chambered drop-in, $490

Shilen has a 20" 1:9 twist ready chambered drop-in for $500

All three manufacturers are highest, Olympic/bench rest reputation.

Agree with Klem on the above. I have BHW that I'm real impressed with also. To me,to have a real accurate AR, a custom barrel and bolt is a must plus a light trigger. Have never owned a Krieger but have the others listed and was impressed with them.

Another agreement with Klem.
Those are the best barrel choices for accuracy.
That's not to say some others might not work also (Odin, Black Hole Weaponry), but you have a greater chance of satisfaction with those choices.

And its always you and your trigger more than the barrel.

My Shilen barrel is sub 0.5 MOA with several loads. If you don’t want the 20 in. DCM profile, they offer an 18” threaded mid tactical on their website.

I just built a rifle out of an Odin barrel.
It's doing ok for me, groups are in my FNG post.
got it down to about .4 MOA.

Cornbread, how do the McGowen barrels shoot? I've heard of them but don't know anyone who has one. Also, what type of bolt do they use ? I couldn't find any specs. I guess I could call them. Duh. I ate too many stupid pills today. But would like to know how they shoot.

Most are 264LBC. Different than the Grendel chambers but most are very good shooters regardless.

I don't think BHW offers a 6.5 Grendel anymore,could be wrong, but everything I've seen is .264 LBC. The bolt on mine is .125. The BHW I've got I really like. It shoots very,very good.. As said above there are as good or better barrels out there but mine shoots great. You need to go with a good barrel if you are after match grade accuracy and a good trigger. JMO.

I have a custom 7 mag with a Mcgowen barrel and it shoots lights out. I have read some posts regarding their AR bsrrels and from what I can tell they are accurate. They only load saami chambers so I am guessing it is .135 bolt but I would call and verify. My local gunsmith uses these barrels on his builds. He has built my 7 mag plus a 260 and 6.5 284 for a buddy and they all are very accurate. I would not hesitate to use their AR barrels.
