I live an hr west of Fort Worth, Texas. Does anyone here know where we locals can go hog hunting????
I have some acreage in the country but its well fenced in... so my finding hogs here is usually unlikely.
I cant wait to see how well my Grendel does on hogs......
By the way, will the wolf 123 soft point do the job ??? ( i know its not very accurate )....
A couple years ago, we were on a dove lease (108 Ranch near Stephenville). The owner welcomed us to take any hogs we saw during dove season. But he had family hunting the land starting in October, so September was our only access. I intended to ask about going back in January after deer season, but never did.

Hey Gene. Try the 120 grain Wolf MPT. It's been very consistent for me. Also, this bullet has a small HP to help with expansion. Until I get a Barnes 120 solid worked up, the Wolf 120 MPT will likely be my Go To round and with the current price per box, it works for my budget.
As for hog hunting, you might try hawking your local feed/tack store and strike up a few conversations. If they have a public bulletin board, you might even post a request with your email/phn#.
I'd check out the area around Possum Kingdom or maybe the Worth Ranch. Find some public land near water and you'll probably find some hogs. Call TPWD.

Maybe take out a small ad in the newspaper clasified under sporting goods. Or maybe Craigslist?
