I bought the upper and lower recievers as they are. The original owner said he put 100 rounds through the rifle. I assumed the finish was done before being sold by the respective companies but I didn't think to ask. I'll find out though.

I've got that same barrel in the mail as we speak. I'm trying to decide which buffer to get. I noticed Spikes makes 3 different weights of heavy buffers. Which brand and weight did you go with?

I have an H buffer in it now and my reloads are not cycling the bolt enough to load the next round or lock open slide. I have used 3 different powders and gotten to about 3/4 of max load so far. I am going to try a regular weight buffer. The H buffer is fine on factory 123 amax loads from Hornady so once I get to full pressure loads on my bench I am sure the H buffer will work fine.

Loads of less than 27 or 28 grains of AA2520 won't cycle my action. It's not the buffer, you just aren't using enough powder.

If you want to shoot a light load start at 10% less than max and it should cycle the bolt.

I have used TAC, 335 and H4198 and loaded 1.5g below listed max on all 3. I am running a BHW Polygon barrel and from what I have read that rifling puts less pressure on the bullet than the standard enfield types so I think I am just a hair too low in my loads yet.
