didn't run at all, 1st shot was a spine hit, had to give em a finisher.

Awesome Buck my friend . Was it a long shot using the 100 Grain bullet? Or was that just the load you were using during your hunt? That's a really nice looking rifle build by the way.. The Mega machine lower & upper are really hard to beat on a really nice build like yours.

Thanks, I have the rifle zeroed at 100 and it hit right where I was aiming (in other words the bad hit was my fault, call it buck fever, it was my 1st buck) I started in a blind and seen this buck getting on and off a doe as they moved through the orchard off to my right, I thought they were going to go away from me so I got out of the blind and moved up on them and dropped prone, they were behind a tree so i shifted to the left and when I looked the doe was looking right at me, she took off then the buck took a jump and stopped broadside at a paced off 130 yards, and down he went.! he was paralyzed from the spine hit (hit him right above the shoulder) so i gave him a finisher.

I did recover the "finishing shot" bullet out of the ground....here is a pic

more info coming....busy cutting up deer right now : )

well after processing the deer, I found that it was a center spine shot, blew completely through the spine, so no bullet recovery..which I am happy about...in terms of the penetration, though I would've liked to see the bullet, oh well.

Nice deer. In Fla we would put him on the wall. 130 yards for your first buck is good shooting.
