My 8 yr old son killed his first buck last night, a nice 7 pointer. We were both so excited. He has taken three does with my Grendel before this, but he really wanted to get a buck this year. He shot the buck with my 100 gr TTSX load. The buck was about 70 yds away and went straight down at the shot. It has been smiles all around this weekend.

great job! i wish my first deer was that nice and that early!
Way to go, nice deer. I'm envious, been hunting a lot of years and still haven't shot a buck that big. Congratulation.
Its great you can spend time with your son teaching him the outdoor ways.

Thanks all for the kind remarks. I am certainly blessed to have a son that is interested and patient enough at this age to take hunting. I hope that we will have many more years of adventures together.
