So to summarize, the best current supplier of Grendel mags is Stoner / Midway? Is that correct?

The only mags made for the Grendel are made in the same factory with different bottom stamps. The 5, 10, and 25 round mags are the most dependable for function. Seems like it might be worth the extra buck to get them from Alexander Arms if they indeed check them out at both the factory AND at Alexander like Bwaites says....

Yeah, AA is the preferrable way to go, but like Hoot, I already got mine from Midway and I gotta admit, these AR Stoner mags function and look great. I have one five round and three ten round mags.

Gene: They had them all priced the same on their website( alexanderarms.com). They list 5, 10 and 25 rounders at $15.99 each.

Just tried a brand new 30-round pmag in the grendel today. I tried it with 3,5,7, and 9 rounds in the pmag and it functioned flawlessly. 7 rounds was the max before the pmag expanded too much. Above that, the pmag would rub going into the mag well. I was able to load 9 rounds into the pmag, but I had to give the magazine a good shove to get it the magwell and seated properly.
As far as feeding and functioning, it worked perfectly at all the various capacities listed above. |
