I dunno they are a crackin rifle and if the supply doesnt meet demand you might be waiting a while to get 1 for sub 400 !!

I gave mine its 1st range session yesterday and it loved 3 diff loads, suprise group was the 155gr lapua Mega's. 3 shot group went aroud 0.35 moa.

Not sure I would wait for it to get sub $400, but some where in the mid to low $400s would have me bite. I'm in no hurry to get one today.

I would be surprised to see a new one for less than what Whitakers has the HB for.

Eventually initial demand will have been met and inventory will be full. Not worried. Once initial wave of buyers who want it right away get theirs, street price will start to drop. Already seeing that in firearm related stuff post-Trump election. Great buying opportunities await us.

You guys better be fast on the draw if you want to buy one from Whittaker Guns. They are literally 6 miles from my front door and the 'Grendel Bug' has bitten a lot of local shooters. There are guys there when the trucks come in every day to see if any Howa Minis came in, and local customers get priority. Good luck.

Mine is at my FFL now. Just need to find time to pick it up. I've got all winter. With the cold here in ND and my work schedule, it'll be spring before I can do a proper barrel break-in. I have thought about lapping the barrel but will do more research 1st. Seems like a good practice to do seeing the barrel break-in Howa shows.

I got to shoot mine today! I am impressed with the trigger, lack of recoil, and accuracy of this rifle. I cleaned the bore after every shot and it definitely has a strong preference for the Hornady factory 123gr AMAX ammo. This rifle has potential to be my Charleston err Charlton Heston rifle, "from my cold dead hands".

Good to hear from a fellow Vet that says "From My Cold Dead Hands". It really bothers Me when some of our fellow shooters seem to just roll over with resignation to the stuff that is coming our way, when so many of Us have sacrificed so much for Their rights.

Are you guys buying the 'Heavy Bbl' options from Whittaker's or the Regular Profile barrel?

The reason I ask .... I know the owner personally, and may be able to sway him on one way or the other when ordering comes around in January. Whittaker's is known for taking "all they can get" on certain items, and Derek may be able to work out a deal in the Spring if I were to talk to him about it.

Again, I'm in no way affiliated, Professionally speaking, with Whittaker's but have been giving them my local business since Darryl ran the place out of his garage back in the 80's. I've been toying with the idea of a "Group Buy" on several items in the past, and this may be one of those items that I approach them on.
