savage grendel barrel length

First post. Great forum.
Getting my parts together for a Savage Grendel build.
Should I go with a 20" or 22" barrel? Any difference?
I rarely shoot past 500 yds. Target shooting, no hunting.

Not much difference, pick which ever you like most. Unless you already have the parts for the build you might consider getting an order in for a Howa Grendel which is due out this Summer. I built a 22 inch barreled CZ 527 last year, no regrets that little rifle sure is nice

Welcome aboard. For target work, go 22", 1/8 twist.

If you aren't ever gonna choot past 500, go with 20", light or heavy varmint contour. That is if it's gonna ride a bench. Short and fat mean stiff, which in theory is more consistent.
