Finally got my Grendel back, it's a model 700 from ptg, 20inch barrel and detachable ai mag.

I almost went with a 700 for my bolt action build then found a CZ 527 in 7.62X39 and went that route. Looking forward to the pics and range report.

Its ai mag and the guy that built it came up with a new spring to put in the clip. I have only shot it 10 time and if seemed to feed fine.

Single stack the guy that built it will be selling the new springs once they are in that feed the br and ppc cases better. He thought they would be in by the end of the month.

Roger that. Every time I look at that fluted barrel and bolt I kick myself for not going fluted. If you have time list all the components for us copycats out here. Thanks.

Please forgive my ignorance guys but I'm new to the Grendel cartridge and just have to ask, why go with the Grendel in a bolt gun and not a Creedmoor or other larger case 6.5 cartridge? Now please understand, every since stumbling upon the Grendel I've fallen hard for it, but it seems like it would be more advantageous to go with the larger cartridge since it would give you the added velocity, terminal ballistics, etc. Is it simply a matter of doing something different because I can certainly understand that. You've got a very beautiful gat and one that is almost certainly going one of a kind on the firing line. I'm not trying to be "that guy" who is disrespectful or anything like that, just curious. Again, nice gun!
