And mine just came today. Out of the box I can tell you 2-3 things (1) it will fit most everyone.(2) It will keep the sun off (3) Its camo enough for most everyone. (I'm going to use it for turkey hunting so I'll add to the camo)I especially like the neck drape in back that makes it reversible

Great to hear. What you can do is spray it with Camp Dry, 2 coats, and it will behave like an umbrella in my experience. I wear mine on hikes, overseas trips, campouts, yard work, you name it. Take some pics if you like.

You were able to adjust it to your head size with the elastic shock cord and barrelock, I take it.

I am not sure that it's fair to report back on the hat after only 2 1/2 days hunting with it. But here goes (1) I got broad brimmed version in multicam (2) A friend told me it was not as green as the rest of my camo. (3) It's light; so much so that I was afraid it would come apart quickly, but it did not. (4) It is cool-that's a good thing I think. (5) It did not get in its own way-sometimes things do not fit and this did. (6) my ear muffs fit-but I would like recommendations as to what electronics ones I should buy. (7) The large brim did not get in the way with either seeing, using binoculars or shooting.
Thought/recommendations (a) I will put some brighter green strips on it to make it more ghilli like (b) I think it should have a strip running around it to simplify putting local foliage on it. © If I had it to do over, I would probably go with the smaller bill-just to make it more packable

The ventilation is meant for breathability and cool breeze running through your head.

Another thing I did with these was use camouflage 550 cord for the drawstring, and left the guts in for survival scenarios if you really needed cordage and were separated from your pack/vest.

There is also a Day Glo Orange signal panel/pocket under the cap for near recognition and rescue signals.

Peltor's and Howard Leight electronic muffs are what I prefer. Did you wear electronic muffs while stalking?

$75 is for Ghillie edge. Get ready for summer and protect your head and ears at the same time. This design actually did really well for me up in Finland a few years ago on a week of hiking and camping in the summer, where the mosquitoes are worse than in Panama. I never intended it to be a hat to protect from insects, but the rear coverage and large brim somehow combined to really keep them off of me for some reason, and they normally make a beeline straight to me.
