Regarding registry of handguns in Washington state, that is why a 2nd form is filed out and sent to law enforcement. They use that info to track who has what handgun. A game warden friend showed me my list. It goes back to 1981 and a TC Contender I purchased from Kesselrings. And everyone since. This info shared with the DMV so everytime a traffic stop is made, the LEO knows that the RO of the vehicle owns handguns. That is going on now, look for that 2nd form to be modified to include all firearms. Perhaps they will try to impose a 5 working day waiting period too.
Being extremely vigilant is very important.

Washingtonians have been fighting formal gun bans for more years than you think. I recall giving some money to one of the gun rights groups in the very early 1980's to fight a formal attempt to register and or ban certain types of firearms in Washington State. I believe it was around 1980 and it was a ballot initiative. I was stationed at Fort Devans Mass at the time and hardly knew where Washington State was, let alone ever think I would get assigned and finally retire there.
I think this was the first very serious attempt at gun registration and outright bans in Washington State so such things go back at least 35 years.
