My First Build so Far

Working on my first ever Grendel build. Building the upper first so I can swap it with a current lower I have for now until I can save again to build a new one.

Barrel: Lilja AR 24" fluted
Upper: Vltor Mur
Bolt carrier group: Underground Tactical Type II
Gas Tube: Rifle length from Underground Tactical

Still haven't decided what hand guard, flash suppressor and gas block I want to use yet. I'm open to suggestions. Want to go with a lighter weight hand guard to make up for some of the weight of the barrel.

Carbon fiber is really a nice handguard option to balance out the heavy barrels.

I looked into the carbon fiber ones but they are a little pricey for my wallet

You could take a look at the houge Free Float tubes they have them with fluted cuts to drop some weight but they arent very expenseve. cant remember how much they run but I think they were under 100 bucks check brownells are midwayusa I think thats where I seen them anouther good place to look is arhuntingrifles.com they normally got some good items and good priceing.
