Looking at building a 16" hunting rifle. I know there is a price difference between these two barrels but what is the actual difference? Cosmetics only? Second barrel has optional twists, so which is better for a 16" barrel, 1/8 or 1/9? Sale ends tomorrow need responses please. I will most likely shoot Hornady 123 grain SSTs as my main load.

I have a 1-9, 18". It shoots the 123's ok, but prefers lighter bullets. I would go 1-8 if you want to shoot 123's. However I've read where some have had good luck with 1-9's also.

I have a 1:9" twist fluted midweight 18" BHW that is very accurate with 123s and lighter weight bullets. Moving up to 129/130 grainers opens groups up to just under 1 MOA for 5 shots @100 yards. If you want one all around rifle I'd go with the 1:8" twist. I just ordered a new Alexander Arms 16" Light Weight upper that has a 1:7.5" twist so between the two uppers I should be able to handle all bullet weights suitable for 6.5 Grendel.

I hope you were able to get your Black Hole barrel. They are not making any more until they decide if they need to or just sell the LBC.

They should dump the .264 and just sell the Grendel.

Let them know. I've already talked with one of their support reps who has mentioned they are interested in how the SAAMI chambered rifles stack up against the LBC's. Anyone who has both is in the unique position of reviewing and comparing the two.
