Will 22-250 Magazine reliably feed 6.5 Grendel rounds?

I'm thinking about building a Savage 6.5 Grendel bolt action and I'm trying to figure out what I would use for magazines. Do 6.5 Grendel rounds feed ok in 22-250 magazines? The dimensions seem pretty close.

What are other DBM options for 6.5 Grendel in a Savage SA center feed rifle?

I would think the 250 magazine will feed. If I understand correctly it's a detachable box, which may need slight tweaking of the feed lips. Keep us updated on the project.

The .22-250 has a lot of case taper to it, so that could affect follower geometry enough to cause problems.

BjornF16 has a Savage Grendel that works fine. You would have to do a search or ask him what magazine he has, but it's internal. I watched him shoot it for 3 days straight, from morning until later afternoon, with no issues that I can recall.

52 is probably right about the follower. Didn't think about that. Although, I have run 22-250 in an internal mag originally chambered for 243, but not vise versa. Bjornf16's was originally a x39 IIRC.

The 22-250 has the same 0.473 case head dismeter as the .308 Winchester famly of cartridges. I would be very interested in knowying if it would work.

Savage used to offer 7.62x39 magazines but I haven't seen any lately.
