As a resident of the affected area, it will be ignored. There are literally hundreds of thousands of these magazines in the city. I have studied the law, read the the codes the law is based on. There is nothing in the codes of this state, that this law is based on that states "magazines acquired before 1/1/2000 are illegal to possess".
The laws that this stupid pos is based deal with importation, construction, lending of hi cap mags after 1/1/2000. The assholes on the city council and city attorney are ignoring the fact. The city attorney is a abortion named Mike Feuer this brain dead Los has written some of most restrictive laws in Calfornia. He is a hack who has held many offices at State and local levels.
Now if there are any out of state haters out there, the reason the state is the way it is complicated. The states demographic has changed, we are a predominately Democratic Party state. Low voter turn out, some of the voters are low information knee jerkers. This state has an estimated 8 million gun owners, most which are not participating in the struggle. Very complicated, and if you let complacency and lack of vigilance take over your world view. Your so called "free state" will be over run by the mental illness of gun control. A2

Well the worse part is we are overrun by illegals! that's why we are mostly Democratic! we are screwed royally, even with high voter turn out we are doomed. know how many illegals vote? we are out numbered, it's sad to see and a shame. go to the Hide and you will be shocked how we here in CA get no support and we get blamed. it's like Romney said the 47%...
I have a crazy liberal senator's kids that work for me, she won't even go to lunch with me to debate her stance. she even boosts how she pass anything that she wants because the people will just vote for it not knowing what it is, like prop 30!

Anyways, rather than getting depressed let's come up with solutions...
here's one: you have to take a test before you vote on who's running and what laws you are voting for, you don't pass you don't get to vote...

second, you can only vote on something unless it effects you, like raising taxes, etc..

third, you move out of this state, but you get the weather that you pay for living here.

I heard one of our local legislators, Joani Mahoney on a radio talk show (left-wing-whack show of course) say that the safe act has kept the targeted firearms "out of the hands of a small number of people having mental issues" (loose quote).

She must have meant all of our legislators. But their body guards all have them so that's ok.

Perhaps she meant the 12 conservatives left in our state?? lol!!

Here in NY, the SAFE Act has been a total success. Since it's passage, we have not had any mass shootings involving the newly defined assault weapons. No one has been shot more than 10 times as that is all you're allowed to have in a magazine. The number of newly defined assault weapons has been greatly reduced in this state. At the time of it's passage, there were an estimated 1,000,000 such weapons in the state. Anyone with one of these now more dangerous weapons had one year to sell out of state or register it with the state police. Approximately 44,000 were registered. That's about 4% of those thought to exist. To me that means 96% of these dangerous guns were transferred out of state. That makes me feel SAFEr. Connecticut had similar results with their law.
