I put together this a few days ago:

I have put a Nikon on to go and sight it in and see if it will function and hold anything approaching 1 MOA. If it does, I'll put a better scope on it and a 20 MOA base and take it to a precision class.

I'll use 123 AMAX factory loads.

This is the 6th AR I've put together, I hope i've got the right combo here. I verified I don't have a short chambered Stoner barrel.

Took it out today, not anything picture worthy. Hit the deflector pretty consistently, was hoping that the captured buffer would mitigate that, guess i'll just go for the velcro for now until it's all broken in and then see about the ejector spring trim.

New 15 shot ASC mag wouldn't lock the bolt on last shot, old C Products 15 shot mag worked 80%+ of the time. Again, possibly added break in.

Ran it very wet so pretty reliable on cycling. After about 40 shots, including about 5 sighters, it's a .9 to 1 MOA gun with factory 123 AMAX at 100 yards on 5 shot groups. Not the greatest day for groups 8-12 MPH SSW wind and then a down pour. Targets came off the butt like wet noodles. :eek:

For comparison, I took along my AA Overwatch with the LW barrel and was able to get .75 MOA pretty consistently with the same ammo on 4, 5 shot groups at the end of the day. The Overwatch worked fine with the ASC mag.

I haven't shot anything rifle in 3 years since my last precision class (long story), so am badly out of practice, plus getting older doesn't help. Guess I need more time at the range.

Its my understanding that the bolt not locking back is a "under-gassed" sign.

Just stating what i have read not an expert by any means.
