I'm still in the middle of my 12.5" build, but if this actually happens in 6.5G, I'll have to think real hard about getting one. Probably a lightweight in OD green.
I guess the buggerbear will be that it'll need a different mag. They'll need one for 7.62x39 and the others anyway though.

I reckon a heavy barrel in a hogue would be awesome. We might have to buy one over there and export it if there only made for Legacy. I reckon they'll sell a good amount if their the first to offer a factory Grendel as there's obviously a demand for them, any following manufacturer will miss that " finally a factory grendel" rush. I for one will be wanting at least one and if the lite ones are really light maybe it'd make a good kids gun. Also I ordered the barrel for my Weatherby Varmintmaster grendel build today.

SAAMI only for me please. Anything else and I'd probably pass.
I know folks like to tweak and tinker, but I wouldn't want a chamber any different than the three (soon to be four) that I already have now. If I wanted a chamber other than SAAMI Grendel, then it'd be a whole new caliber for me.

I don't think it will matter as much in a turn bolt action, but for those of us who want to be able to process our brass the same way, and not worry about different neck sizes, it makes sense to keep everything the same.

Juddy Legacy Sports International is owned by the same mob who started as Highland Sports in Bowral NSW. It may be an American distributor, but it is an Australian company. IIRC OSA is now the Howa distributor in OZ, drop them a line on when the Micro action will arrive and could they please order a Grendel with their initial order.

I would only buy one if it had a chamber similar to the LBC throat for a bolt gun as this is the chamber Im heading for my bolt builds!

I want to find out what type of magazine geometry/dimensions we are looking at.
I'm ready to drop coin now, but also understand that I want the rifles done right.

Does anybody know anything about these guys? Honestly, I have never heard of them. How precise would a Legacy Sports precision target Grendel be? Do they do the work right and use quality components?

They are Howa actions with Hogue stocks. The company was described on page 2 of this thread. They appear to be a larger company that handles distribution for Howa, Hogue, and some other companies in the US. Some of the Australian and New Zealander forum members recognized the company.
I just heard about them this SHOT Show, and have been in communication with the President. They are very excited about doing a 6.5 Grendel micro action bolt gun.
Something like this in the micro action would be pretty sweet:

I inquired about Howa rifles at sportsman last week. Salesman said that they are the same Japanese company that make the Weatherbys.

Howa actions are really nice... I want to say that Howa makes the action used on the weatherby vanguard.

Howa does make the weatherby vanguard and has been around for quite some time. For a while in the 90s you could pick up a barreled action pretty cheap, drop it in a Ramline stock and have a rifle for lower price than a Savage that most would shoot less than 1.5 inches at 100 yards with cheap factory loads.

I would be interested in a 6.5 version, I'm not sure if I would want a lite or std hunter profile. But would be very interested. I will probably buy the 223 version as a second P-dog rifle anyway, for when the 204 is cooling and a walking rifle. The 204 is long and think......

Exactly. What is the next step? Do we need a knowledgeable single point of contact to consolidate questions, evaluate the specs and components, solidify options, or perhaps invite Mr. McCormick to join the Forum? He may not even be interested in a group buy, or this may be Future Shock and not doable anytime soon.

Wasn't there concerns on the sniper forum of the Hogue pillar bedded stocks being to flexible and that in many applications the stock bent enough to touch the barrel? Or has Hogue fixed this? Are there better options, especially with the heavy barrel?
