Maybe it's the new Common Core math, but the percentages seem to be off. Current total adds up to over 140%.

Skewed because 1 vote can count multiple times. I have 3 rifles, thus 1 vote counted in 3 different categories. It totals only the number of votes, not the different categories.

83 voters, but 119 rifles.

Perhaps because it isn't a common production length? Could mean that most buyers will opt for what's "on the shelf" or for something slated for an earlier delivery date...

I can't belive I'm the only one with a 10.5" barrel so far. And only three 14.5" barrels (counting one of mine)? I guess the 6.8SPC marketing crew must have done a real number on the SBR crowd. Good thing the deer never heard that hype. They might refuse to fall over dead.LOL

I wanted to also mark 12" for my pending 12.5" build, but I figured that'd be cheating since I don't have the barrel yet.

Your not alone, just put another 14" and another 12" on the poll. I wouldn't own one longer than 16". Anything longer and I'd rather shoot a bolt gun. You got to give the 6.8 guys one thing - they are relentless with the marketing.

Started with a 16" went to an 18" thinking of going back to 16"(14.5). Or going to two uppers one with a 14.5" and a 24" to cover both ends. 24" for bench fun plus long range and 14.5" for hunting which for me, normally <100yds. What to do, what to do? Options, it's what I love about the AR and the Grendel.

I'd agree with ya on the 12.5 SBR for self-defense but for me, I don't want to deal with the govt/bureaucratic BS for a hunting rig.

Apparently there is a loophole and you can get a "pistol" strap stock designed to be bound to the arm, and have a barrel as short as you like. You also apparently do not have to utilize the weapon as a pistol, but rather as a rifle as the ATF allegedly can't tell you that you can't put your Glock to your shoulder and shoot that like a rifle either.

This...I have a 14.5 that I'm going to cut down to 12.5 and use a Sig Tac brace. If I like it, I'll submit the paperwork for an SBR. 14.5" is too close in length to a 16" when a flash hider is used to be worth the effort IMO.

Built my 20" upper this fall as a personal rehabilitation program after neck surgery. I intend to use it next spring after the doctor clears me to shoot highpower matches again.
