Another failure to chamber thread.... help please

Has anyone measured the length of the ejector pin. Both too long and working smooth.

I just bought it about a month ago. I wrote Satern, and they said that unfortunately that was a problem with all the bolts, and that Midway should have contacted me (they did not), but that they would send me a new bolt if I wanted. Since I presume my current bolt is properly headspaced and now functions flawlessly, I prefer to keep the one I had. The person that wrote me back was Kim Hageman from the email address kimsatern@gmail.com if that saves you any time. I'm glad Rootshot did all the work for us.

I'd get the extra bolt for a spare. The difference if any in headspace would be minimal.

I'm guessing the problem with the ejector is from using a standard AR-15 ejector. Since the Grendel bolt face is 0.011" deeper than a standard 7.62x39 bolt face, a standard ejector would be 0.011" too long.

problem with mine fixed by the manufacturer, replace both the ejector and the extractor, also gave me new bolt. Shot today, and was 100%

I'm going to piggyback off this thread.
New build, Lothar Walther 20 inch barrel with rifle length gas system, .875 Gas block, fixed stock with rifle buffer.

I'm having failure to cycle issues. My build has essentially become a single shot. Tried Wolf, Hornady, and reloads. None would cycle the action. Could this be a spring/buffer issue? I have carbine stuff available to try. Could this be a gas block/port size issue? The round chamber fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Shouldn't be the buffer or spring. What do you mean by failure to cycle? What happens after it fires? Does the case eject but the bolt isn't going to the rear enough to chamber a new round or does the bolt just barely unlock? Sounds like a gas issue to me. Make sure everything is in alignment(the gas block, gas rings etc) Who did the build? How many rounds have you put thru it? Take the gas block off, make sure the port in the gas block lines up completely with the port in the gas tube. Doesn't take much misalignment to make it malfunction.

I'm going to agree with glane5910 that it appears a gas issue. Check the gas block alignment to the gas port. If you remove the gas block, you should see a carbon stain on the barrel (at least on stainless) that indicates where the gas block hole is. Also make sure the gas tube is straight. I've also heard (not verified) that if the gaps in the gas rings on the bolt are aligned (they shouldn't be), it can cause cycling issues.

Rounds will not eject after shot. Only 10 rounds through it total.

Not ejecting or not extracting? If your bolt is just barely coming back, that's extraction. Align your gas block, check the gas rings etc then put a few more rounds down the tube. Some rifles need more rounds down to seal everything up. I've had 2 bad/leaking gas blocks in the past year.
