I agree with his sentiment on Nightforce however, they are good scopes. March has good FFP reticles as well that work both near and far magnification - but not in your budget.

Mils and metric are indeed the superior system. But your meme is weak and you know it. Down deep. And it burns you up.

Looks pretty true to me!
All kidding aside, the scale you are most familiar and comfortable with, use that one. I don't judge target size by the hash marks on my scope reticle, and by the time a target is way out there, even a second focal plane scope is on max (or close enough) so I'm good...
Get good glass and a useable magnification.

Jim Kelbly almost sank the March US business when it first came out. He was the only world supplier at the time and constantly touring to compete, leaving no-one behind to run the business. He also had a habit of not returning calls and being snarky to concerned customers. Maybe he's got better with more competition selling March scopes. BRT Supplies was appointed the southern hemisphere's rep and then a UK rep was appointed. Luckily for March things improved.

More recently there have been concerns over parallax and focus not coinciding in some March scopes, at least that's the scuttlebutt. It might be just trends but NF's more recent 15-55x52 Competition has become popular. These types of scopes are unrelated to a Grendel rifle but goes to show how little it takes to bruise a brand's reputation.

My thoughts are that both NF and March are great scopes and I have both. High zoom ratios and repeatability is what interests me in a scope. Unfortunately there is no industry benchmark for repeatability, or independent (trustworthy) testing of it. You don't see how well it returns to zero after recoil listed in any specs.

I shoot 99% of the time at known distances 2,3,4 & 500 meters.. I’ve used dope card all my life so this will be something new for me to learn.

Taking them both out this Thursday for the first practice….

I have 2 Steiner military scopes, both mil that I really like. The tacticals tend to cost a bit less than the military's. The 3-12 has the G2B reticle and 5-25 has the MSR reticle. The MSR is a busier reticle, but once you get used to and start using the marks and scales it is really nice to have.

I would get another Steiner without hesitation.

Had a Grendel for a while, love it. Like most things ~6mm. Have the Grendel (AR15), 6.5 Creedmoor (AR10) 6mm Creedmoor (AR10) and working on a 6mm ARC (AR15).

One day get a couple bolts to add to the collection, but now between rifles, suppressors and glass... they will have to wait a little while.
