Which ammo to use for barrel break in, Wolf or Hornady AG?

Honestly just buy a 200 round case of American gunner ammo, leave the cleaning supplys at home, go to the range shoot all 200 rounds making sure not to get the barrel hot to the touch, go home clean bore and chamber and then enjoy your rifle working up some fine shooting handloads.

Barrel break in is a waist of time and energy, I stopped doing that mess a few years ago and all my newer guns shoot submoa as long as I'm doing what I should behind the trigger.

No, the last lots of Wolf Gold I’ve seen imported were still coming from Serbia manufactured by Prvi Partizan with PPU head stamp and large rifle primers. I haven’t seen any new lots of 6.5 Grendel Wolf Gold since PPU reintroduced their 6.5 Grendel with higher quality brass cases which use small rifle primers. If the head stamp is PPU on Wolf Gold it comes from Serbia.

I re-barreled with an Odin 18" Intermediate a while back. The advice I got from them was to use any standard factory ammo and do a 1-3-3-3-5-5. 20 rounds and you're done. The shop that did the barrel job also mentioned that most AR's are over-gassed, just to make sure they function. Mine was set fairly low. The first shot failed to lock back so I opened it one turn. No problems since.

i love breaking in a new gun or just new barrel. clean, shoot, clean shoot, check target. i think i just love to shoot these guns! i do shoot thru 2 cheap chrono's lined up in a row and aim at target to save on ammo used. i am breaking in, sighting in, and seeing difference between loads and or brands of ammo! life is pretty good at the White Family Farm,,,,,,
