I well recheck the regs but if you are hunting only hogs for crop or property damage which is basically what most of these outfitters are doing for the landowners.
[COLOR="#B22222"]Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott has signed a popular bill that would allow feral hogs to be taken in the Lone Star State without a hunting license.
Sponsored by state Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, SB 317 is designed to cut away layers of red tape when it comes to combating the growing scourge of wild hogs in the Lone Star State. Approved unanimously in the Texas Senate and only garnering two ?no? votes in the House, Abbott, a Republican, signed the bill last week.
Under current law, feral hogs must cause damage on a landowner?s property in order to be hunted without a license. SB 317 amends Texas wildlife code to allow any person, with the consent of the landowner, to take hogs without having a license. Classified as nuisance wildlife by the state, hogs damage crops and upset local ecosystems.
According to a recent study by Texas A&M, nearly 80 percent of the state has habitat suitable for feral hogs and their numbers are exploding, with an average of 2.6 million of the animals believed to roam the state in 2012. With the population expected to double every five years, the study noted that ?Obviously, feral hog harvest needs to increase substantially, and control methods need additional evaluation to increase harvest thereby reducing economic and ecological damage.?
During its legislative process, the bill had the support of the state Game Warden Peace Officers Association and the Texas Farm Bureau.
The new law takes effect Sept. 1.[/COLOR]

If there was a grendel group hog hunt were we all met up at some spot I would be down for it. Sure I could talk some friends into it as well.

I do believe the only parts not suitable are occupied by brick, concrete, asphalt, or rivers and lakes.

I hunting in Woodson in September. This will be my first hunt with the rancher in Woodson.
The people at Hunters Creek are just the best.

My lease is 5 miles north of Woodson, Off Hay Rake Mountain road. I have seen hogs on it in the daylight but was working not hunting. Whats the rancher's name?

Absolutely DNS, I couldn?t agree with you more. Hunters Creek Ranch is a big commercial operation.
They advertise heavily on the Texas Hunting site.
They have a webpage.
I would not ever betray a trust.

Oh, ok the Woodson property, still a commercial operation, small one man show.
Also advertises on Texas hunting.
Hunts only on weekends.

I talked to Hunters Creek Ranch he has one weekend opening the last weekend in January otherwise he may have openings after April. $250 a day two day minimum weekdays are not as big of a problem getting us a date. These prices frustrate me.
I know how the world works. It's all about money, you charge what you think you can get and the plan is to get as rich as possible as quickly as possible.
Hundreds of $$$ a day. For what?
We're not talking about deer or exotics that have been hand-raised and fed for years, this is about killing some hogs that are ruining land and water and resources and costing each of us money at the grocery store. This is about killing pests to make the landowners' life better.
I saw one place that charges hundreds to shoot one hog a day with an additional butchering fee and separate charges for everything you eat or drink. They probably charge $20 a roll for toilet paper if you don't bring your own.

I?ve got a week booked with Hunters Creek Ranch in February, for 6 boys from Georgia.
We hunted with him a couple of months ago. Most of the time 99% of their hunters don?t have NV or thermals.
Most of their pigs are killed in the daylight.
I hunted at night because it was hot as heck the three days I hunted. They have the pigs and the Texas hospitality

We are full the week the Georgia boys are coming down, besides you really would not like hunting with them. They are really bad Georgia Rednecks. My wife calls us White Trash With Money.

I've got one of the red/green lights, so that could work.
Early morn/late afternoon would be better for me.
But, who knows, flexible somewhat.
2 days' drive down there, and then same on back.
