There are people "who's hard wiring" is not normal, always has been and always will be. I was not talking about those people. I have never seen a monster created in a vacuum. What usually looks like good parenting on the outside is not always the case. I hope you weren't insinuating that good parenting contributes to mass shooters. You lumped all parenting together with that last statement, so I have to ask. In any case, a child with severe mental illness or not, has a better chance with good parents than neglectful ones. If you disagree, "please by all means" enlighten me.

A double barrel shotgun shooting 2-3/4" #1 buckshot fires 16 .30 caliber projectiles with one pull of the trigger. Fire both barrels and you have fired more projectiles than an AR-15 with a thirty round magazine. A normal pump shotgun will hold 5 shots without modification. That is to me is the same as 80 rounds. Theoretically you are also launching projectiles at a higher rate of fire than a machine gun. Is a shotgun not a Assault Weapon?

Not at this point, but it will be a perfect next target after, God forbid, they are successful in banning the AR-15 again. Eventually they will work down to wrist-rocket slingshots.

Single parent fatherless homes, violent video games and movies, lack of religious upbringing, over medicating children at to young an age, etc. in my opinion are all contributing factors. It is not just one thing that is causing these school shootings. There are multiple factors involved. The U.S. culture is a culture in decline. I went to a somewhat rural school. 69 students in my graduating class of 1981. There were guns in the gun racks of student pickup trucks in the parking lot every school day. There were some rough customers who got in trouble regularly. They had that tuff guy trouble maker reputation. Not one of them would ever have brought a gun to school with the intent of shooting the place up. There was the occasional fight. I was in a few myself. You got paddled hard and paddling was common even from the female teachers. I can assure you though a school shooting was impossible during my years attending public school. There were no students that mentally deranged or that broken.

That is just way to funny!! From above post!,,, a screw driver, hammer, crescent wrench?? They have lumped everything into one category if used to do harm? AR rifles don’t need to be outlawed they just need to inforce the laws we have already. A recent happening involved forty nine trips to the house and three calls to the FBI!! If payed people would have done their jobs this event would have never happened! They want to lump everyone into one category for the actions of a few and there is no common sense in that! When the Dems do this sort of thing I really question their mentality?!!

my senior year i had 3 shotguns and a .270 and a 30.06 in my school locker an a buck knife an my belt im only 47 years old just to clarify i went to a middle size school ( about 250 senior class and the principal knew they were in my locker hell my freshman year woods class one of the assigned projects was a crossbow, make the stock assemble it and to pass it had to function and shoot.
