I'm not a long range shooter, just a hunter and wanted more oomph than the 300 blk out I had. So now I'm going to take it out and try it out on a deer.
Your story is my story and we are on the same timeline. I have the 16" BCA barrel but I am not getting that accuracy - but it could be me. I topped off a Viking Tactical/MP15 with a geissele super V trigger.

Luvall, my next build will be a 16 or 18 lightweight for my wife. My heavy barrel 20in is a little barrel heavy for her. I'm going to start handloading for better accuracy and speed. Maybe some 100grain partitions.

too bad they just don't use the correct tooling for the SAMMI 6.5. the cost must be so high its just not worth it,,,,,

I bought that same upper, 20" fluted stainless barrel w/ mlok handguard. Should be showing up today.
Funny story the day I bought it it was listed at $339, come back the next day and it was on sale for $289. So I called them up, talked to Amy I believe who issued me a store credit where I bought 3 magazines, had them shipped to my house on FedEx expedited shipping for a whopping $1.53. Those show up tomorrow. I'm excited to join the 6.5 Grendel brotherhood as well.

During the process of getting these barrels made for my group buys, I found out that the tooling — specifically the reamers — is no more expensive for the SAAMI chamber than for any other chamber. This is from when I asked Manson from the reamer end and Faxon from the barrel end. Faxon says drillin' a hole with one reamer is no different than drillin' a hole with another.
I found that interesting cuz I had also heard, I suppose we all have heard it somehow, that SAAMI 65G was more expensive. Not true. Urban myth.
Manufacturers could be referring to amortizing the tooling costs over a production run. If you make 1000 5.56 barrels and 100 65G barrels, your tooling is going to be "less" per barrel for 5.56.

If your referring to the BCA 6.5 Grendel barrels they are SAAMI spec chamber. The type II refers to .136 bolt which BHW uses to describe .136 bolt and Type I is .125 7.62X39 bolt. Many manufactures use Type II nomenclature to indicate .136 bolt which is not to be confused with Grendel II chamber used by Satern/Liberty. Grendel II chamber uses traditional lead/throat with a long free bore whereas SAAMI 6.5 Grendel uses a compund throat and .300 neck.

So just a little range report. I took my BCA 20" fluted 6.5 Grendel upper installed on my factory Franklin Armory M4-SBR-L lower to the range today. I have a Primary Arms 4-14x44 HUD DMR ACSS scope mounted on a primary arms mount. I never got the chance to put any rounds through the barrel to break it in before I got there. I was able to sight it in at 100 yards in 4 shots, then using the bullet drop through the scope able to shoot out to 560 yards on the steel range successfully hitting 5 for 5 on my last go around. Size of the plates are approx 1 moa tall and 2 moa wide and I was hitting dead center of the plates. I was shooting factory Hornady A-MAX 123g rounds. All in all I'm super impressed with this upper. For upper and scope around $600 and to be shooting at least or under MOA I'm stoked!!!

now that's good to know. it was not plainly laid out in their description about the chamber.
