I could see how the LH charging could be awkward in that config. Is it anymore awkward than a standard charging handle in the same sling config?

I never had trouble with the standard charging handle shooting service rifle. I needed a side charger because the buttstock doesn't work with a standard charging handle because the cheek rest gets in the way.
