I just got my Lilja 18.5" barrel short chambered by AA, so it's now a 17 5/8" barrel from crown to breech without bolt.
The other Lilja 18" pipes are 18 3/8" by my rough measurement.
I get 2500fps with the 123gr A-MAX on top of 31.2gr of CFE223, not even trying to push it. Factory A-MAX is 2450fps avg from the 16" AA pipe. Pressure trace equipment seems to indicate that factory Hornady A-MAX is running at a comfortable 49,000psi.
Factory 123gr SST clocked 2602fps from one of the 20" Lilja barrels when I took it out.
Somehow I ended up with a bunch of 18" barrels, to include Satern and Lilja. 18" is what I wanted in the beginning, but wasn't fast enough with a Midway checkout to get one, so I jumped on the 16" barrel/bolt combo back in 2009. I've been really impressed with the 16" performance, which has exceeded my expectations by over 500yds, since I initially relegated it to a 700yd carbine at best. I actually need a 20 MOA cant mount for it now, since I've seen what it can do at 1200yds and farther.
