I have never heard of anyone outside of the Scouts tell of participating in a Flag Retirement Ceremony and you are only the fourth scouter I have heard, other than my troop, that has witnessed/participated in one. I was a tenderfoot then and I cherish that day, filing it away with other memories like Graduation Day at Parris Island or watching a living friend receive the Medal of Honor.
