As I am still an MG-lover, I would love to see the Ulfberht with a bigger magazine (20 rds), shooting full-auto.
I am pretty sure some of you may remember that I proposed a mag-fed squad-level MG a few years ago.
That idea originated from seeing a Barrett M-82 used on an exercise in Norway, firing rapidly against a target. It fired just as fast as we usually fired the M2, and with better accuracy, not to mention it was carryable.
I know that the .338 Lapua Magnum has relatively similar practical range as the .50, while the ammunition is a lot lighter. So my first thought was that a .338 magfed LMG would be sweet.
I have presented that idea to others, and some have been less than enthusiastic about it. However, for "my" current needs (Norwegian HomeGuard) it would, IMO, be pretty awesome, as we will probably do guerilla-type warfare if it ever comes to action.
