I've used Burris and have several friends that use Burris. If you are on a limited income, you can't really go wrong with the burris mounts. The price is great. The only down side is that it's made in China, but I challenged you to find something these days that isn't.
We have been involved in an economic war with the PRC since 1968, when their "Total War" plan was launched. Since then, Nixon/Henry Kissenger opened them up to trade with us, and it's been downhill ever since. For a while, Chinese products were dirt cheap, but they have risen to what American-made prices were maybe a decade ago, and are still rising. I do my best to spend my economic bullets (dollars) on US Made products when I can. Granted, several US companies have moved their entire facilities to the coasts of China, and still have the same QC, but with dirt-paid Chinese workers.
The American Defense QD mounts can be had for $135, and the LaRue mounts with VFZ can be had for $145 I think. LaRue has a superior mounting and tension system for the rail, as well as recoil lugs that fit tightly in an M1913 rail slot. Most others do not, and they rely on side-to-side clamping force, versus the vertical torsion of the LaRue mounts.
If you want to pay Chinese prices for Israeli-designed products, get the CAA scope mount for $20. It is built using the same components and metal as the Burris, probably in the same factory...
