The powder was not nearly explosive as most would think.Well with powder itself yes, but some of the key ingredients like potassium nitrate can be very explosive, im sure there are many other ingredients to propriatary mixtures that may have an ubstable and volitile nature. It is odd for sure that it happens when no one is there. Hard to say at this point, but either way it does not look good. Just when things were starting to calm back down.
The smokeless powder really needs to be able to build pressure to be explosive. I don't know much at all about powder production, but I'd think the buildings and equipment they use would be designed with pressure reliefs.
I guess what I'm trying to get at, is I highly doubt this was an accident.
