To be fair Colt Competition (different company that has a license agreement with Colt's) decided to shelve their planned Grendel. There was a thread here back in fall. I never heard a definitive reason, however my professional guess would center on bolt service life or magazine reliability.
LWRC was nothing more than a design and assembly house...all their components were manufactured to spec by outside vendors (mostly by Matech). There's currently a suit pending against LWRC from a firearms designer claiming LWRC made use of his intellectual property in their rifle designs.
