The thing that is really sad is that these Liberty barrels seem to really shoot well, and not all of them had problems with the chamber being short, while enough of them did, to include pressure signs, pulled bullets and dumped powder...with factory loads.
If Liberty barrels could just get ahead of the customer concerns that were voiced in the beginning, and turn the throats with a modified finish reamer to bring them into spec, there would be a reputation of addressing the problem and making customers happy. No harm, no foul.
From what I can gather, there was a doubling down, a series of contradicting statements were made, "the chambers are in spec", "the chambers were always short", "we can't be responsible for ammunition manufacturers making ammo that won't fit out chambers", "we have a new chamber design anyway" (based on another entirely different cartridge meant for high pressure bolt guns). Those are the cliff notes basically.
