The issue is that there is a distinction. The Lapua is meant for longer loads. The Grendel is meant for short, medium, and long(ish) loads. So where the Grendel is a jack of all trades that is only prohibited by the longest of bullets (like 140g), the Lapua is known to do well in 123-140g but falters with common lighter loads. They are two distinct designs. There's also the fact that Satern is taking the legitimate name of the Grendel spec (that went through standardization), calling their out of spec products Grendel, and then using the name to promote their cannibalization as a legitimate spec when it is in fact an wildcat.
Let's say you owned a company that made a certain new style of car suspensions, and then someone changed a fundamental component but tried to play it off as having the same, safe product while actually causing safety concerns. Would you not take issue to them taking your product name? Because that's what's happening here.
