In the drawing you can see that the part that is .2644 should be .153 long.
If factory ammo is making a ring .050 thou from the neck then that part isn't .2644.
If the reamer is minus 1 thou then that part is .2634 and if the groove isn't .264 it could hold the bullet,especially if not perfectly centered and any roughness from the reamer getting dull.
A reamer designed to cut that part of the throat to .2644 and nothing else should make the barrels right.
There would be not much cutting involved and the chamber remains 6.5 Grendel spec.
There shouldn't be any marks on a factory bullet after it drops from the chamber.
It took a tremendous amount of polishing with JB's on my barrel to work OK and I still see slight scuffing on the bullet when it falls loading to factory spec.
If my barrel was any worse than it was I would send it in.
There should not be a minus 1 thou on the reamer spec that would be less than .2644 in that part of the chamber.
