I will be sending my barrel to PF and hopefully mark can look at my bolt with it since the lugs look pretty beat up (after 25 rounds of factory Hornady ammo and 10 low velocity handloads)
To be honest this experience has kind of ruined the Grendel for me. This was my first rifle in the caliber and i'm really considering washing my hands of it and going with a .308 AR now.
I wouldn't let an anomaly in the market color your entire view of the cartridge, especially when you look at recoil and performance compared to the .308 Win., which I got totally out of. There are people in the industry who have been trying to kill the Grendel from the start, and it would make them extremely happy for you to wash your hands of it.
This is one of the things that has bothered me on the rare occasion that someone gets a lemon, has problems, and just walks away, then shares that experience with others, when so many of us have been enjoying the downrange benefits of this great cartridge for years and years without issue.
Hang in there and we will help you get this sorted out. I personally don't have a warm and fuzzy about customers being left with an additional financial burden of having to send their barrel in to be reamed correctly in order to shoot SAAMI factory ammunition.
