I bought an 18" AR Stoner 6.5 Grendel barrel (Product # 586354) from Midway in November 2012. I got sidetracked on my build, didn't get the complete rifle together until a year later. Shot it for the first time in December 2013. Primers aren't cratered, but there is some flattening, and there are definitely ejector marks on the brass. I didn't check all the brass until after I got home from the range. I shot 6 rounds of Wolf Gold 120 gr soft point, and 10 rounds of Hornady 123 gr A-Max (factory load). After discovering the threads on this forum discussing the short throat issue with Liberty/Stoner barrels, I did the magic marker test on an Amax. It looks exactly like the pics Alligator posted in post #14 of this thread. When I chambered it by hand, pushing the bolt carrier closed by hand, there was resistance before the bolt closed completely. Ejecting the round took some persuasion. I guess this means this short throat issue has been around for a while?
