As to pistols in an offensive CQB environment, way too little firepower. 5.56 carbines have less over-penetration because of frag threshold. CAG figured this out decades ago, and started dumping the MP5's in favor of Colt Commando carbines for CQB.

I agree with LRRPF52, the 7.62x25 is a really Fast & effective round that could probably be easily pushed to speeds fast enough to penetrate kevlar, with the right bullet design that is!! And if I'm not mistaken isn't it a 30 Caliber bullet, or so very close? Such as either a .308 or .309 diameter bullet?
If it is than isn't it possible that we could make pistol Brass from Once fired Lake City Brass? That's how a Lot of people make their 300 Blackout Brass and it works Great!!

The Military could use the Honey Badger as a close Quarters clearing weapon just as it is designed for doing, and with solid Brass 100 Grain 300 Blackout Bullets Pushing Supersonic Speeds, don't you think we could develop a round that would work Great for penetrating kevlar yet also Fragmenting if it Hit several layers of Drywall..
Federal has a New 9mm Bullet like this and it is Awesome. Lehigh Defense makes some Great Fragmenting Subsonic Ammunition.

With our current Technology it's Amazing what we are capable of doing, if there is No Underlying Agenda keeping us from doing it!!!
