This appears to be what I suspected it would be: a textbook case of being jammed into the lands.
The SAAMI Grendel chamber is actually pretty forgiving. Chamber length to the mouth of the neck is 1.530", and the .5 degree throat starts from there. The SAAMI spec has a detailed diagram for the throat.
Most brass is 1.515"-1.520" in length, and the ogive has plenty of room to transition to the throat. When you have 10-15 thousandths before you even hit the .5 degree throat, and bullets are jammed, you're not dealing with much allowable COL in that chamber.
