I am thinking that the compression of the new gas rings my also hinder the insertion as it is getting easier the more I "work the bolt'. I really don't think it is going to be a really big deal, but I never saw one stick out that far before. Plus, two of my other new bolts slid right in the new carrier.
Did you read my note, the rings are the identifying marks used by Maxum.
Also if you put a case in the bolt , the extractor will probably sit flush. Check for the o-ring.
