Well I finally was able to do a side by side test today between my new Geissele SSA-E and my American gold trigger. I know there has been a lot of opinions and even a poll on the best trigger for the AR plat form but here are my thoughts. "They both rock". The American Gold trigger has a lighter trigger pull and has a quicker reset than the Geissele SSA-E trigger. The difference was oooh so slight that it was very hard to tell the difference at first. That said the Geissel trigger felt more like the trigger on my M1A1 match rifle. It's hard to explain but the Gold trigger was lighter but has a spongier feel to it than the Geissele. The Geissel obviously has a much stronger hammer spring that strikes with authority, which I would think would be a more reliable trigger for harder primers but this is just conjecture on my part because my American Gold has run flawlessly and I haven't put many rounds through my Geissel yet. I can only say I'm very happy with both triggers so far.
