Then you would know for sure if your go gauge is bad. (what brand were the gauges if I may ask?) If the new Lapua cases chamber with just a tiny tiny bit of bolt handle resistance (compared to closing on an empty chamber) and then won't chamber with about .002 of tape on the case head I would think you are fine... but it never hurts to triple check everything. Hope everything turns out great on your "Grendel-age". Sounds like a rifle that even the wife & kids could enjoy & will be super accurate!

Gauges along with two rounds of Hornady ammo and three Lapua cases were shipped back to manufacturer two days ago (they should receive them today).
I head spaced using the Lapua brass, the Hornady loaded factory rounds chambered fine also. The go gauge was way to tight to chamber when head spaced on the Lapua brass.
I have read that many of the older Sako rifles would not head space using go gauges as they were tight chambers and made that way on purpose. If you are old enough to remember the older Sako rifles were very accurate. Also from what I have been reading there are quite a few other rifles that have tight chambers and won't close on a standard go gauge.
