Christmas is coming and I am still thinking about a cool gift for one of the little ones. I figured I'd call E. Arthur Brown Co. and ask about a falling block Grendel.
"Good morning. I understand that you make custom rifles."
"Yes, we do."
"Would it be possible to custom order your 97D chambered in 6.5 Grendel."
"I don't think so, but I'll check."
"Thank you."
[10 seconds later] "No."
"Oh, OK, thanks anyway."
Though not an exact parallel, the interaction reminded me of Japan where, if you arrive at a traditional restaurant even a couple of minutes before the stated opening time, you will not be noticed or acknowledged in any way until the clock ticks down to the precise opening time."
So EABCo offers custom rifles in many obscure chamberings, but 6.5 Grendel is just not possible.
