OK, I've got an 18" Liberty barrel and bolt on order. Getting pretty sleep deprived over the last several days, reading about accuracy build tips, group bolt buys (30+ pages), and trying to find/decide on parts for rest of build. So I hope these questions don't come off as too dumb. When it comes to possible safety issues, I don't believe in dumb questions.
Can I use any AR BC for the supplied Grendel bolt? IIRC, LRRPF52 recommends an M-16 carrier for the extra weight, seems to help with cycling issues?
Does anyone know if the Liberty bolt is Type 1 or Type 2? I read somewhere yesterday(group bolt buy thread IIRC) where someone was asking about firing pins. Is there a difference in firing pins for a type 1 vs type 2 because the extra .135" recessing? Any reason to worry about punctured primers? I was thinking of using a titanium firing pin to reduce lock time. Any thoughts on that as far as reliability issues?
