LaRue also offers different height mounts. You might go with your original intent and try the A.R.M.S. Swan Sleeve with your current rings, if the two systems add-up to the desired height for your facial anatomy and eye-plane. I think the Swan Sleeve adds at least .5" of height to the rail.
I have used Swan Sleeves on several different platforms, including my M4 when I was still in, and I preferred that flip-up sight to the Knight's issue BUIS any day. I have also used the A.R.M.S. extended rail on SPR platforms with QD rings, and can't recall any issues. I have a friend who has them on his AR-10 uppers, one of which is in 6.5x284, and he shoots some pretty impressive groups with that rig from 700m to over 1000m. I've never heard any complaints from him about zero-return.
I currently lean towards 1-piece bases for my own rifles and carbines, as it just makes things simpler for me. The Swan will provide you the most affordable option since you already have rings if they provide the eye-height plane you're looking for. Have you measured your eye-height from a good cheek-to-stock weld yet? That should be your starting point in this endeavor.
