I am building my first AR also. I had the same problem as you on the stock selection. I ordered a UBR Stock and a CTR cheek riser to put on the top of the stock for a higher cheek weld. They have not shown up yet. A normal configured AR can not use the cheek riser on the UBR stock due to a interference problem with the charging handle but if you have a side charging handle you should be good to go.
