Anyone else had to wait extremely long time for a barrel?

Saterns have all the barrels done and have had them done since the cut off. They are just waiting for parts. So please before you speak about others, please have your information correct and not assume they are doing something wrong. I am offended by your comments Mr bwaites. The Saterns are honest people and I take issue with you commenting on things that you know nothing about. I have known the Satern's for many years and I talk to them regularly so yes I do know what is going on.

You are making a large assumption that I believe they have done something wrong. I have said nothing of the sort. You are implying that I believe that they have or may do something wrong.

Lets review....The Saterns posted that they were not going to renew their contract to build Grendel and Beowulf barrels. They had an outstanding order with this individual, who reports that he ordered in February, for a Grendel barrel. They put a fairly significant quantity of barrels on closeout, at least some of those barrels have shipped and people have posted that they have received them.

This man has been waiting for a barrel for 6 months, you state that the barrel is done, but has not been shipped? If the barrel was completed prior to the closeout date, why did it not ship? What parts would not be available for a preorder, when all those other barrels were being sold as closeouts? If, as you state, that parts are being waited for, why weren't those parts that were on closeout barrels used to complete his order, since it was a standing order from many months prior?

No one is insinuating that the Saterns have done anything wrong. The fact is that they have declined to renew their licensing contract, that is simply a business decision, neither good or bad in and of itself. If they have completed their barrel run, and the barrels are done, then why has this man not received his barrel?

If his barrel was not completed prior to the contract cut of date, why has he been left in the dark as to when it will be completed?

One of the huge issues always present with the Saterns is the inability to consistently get information and feedback. People have tried literally for weeks to contact them, after sending many emails, and still never received a reply or phone call.

I shoot a Satern barrel, as do many of my fellow Grendel owners. We like the product, but communication with Satern is always a very rocky road. I needed a 7mm WSM barrel, I left multiple emails and voice mails last winter, yet not once did I get a call back or any response to emails.

The Saterns, from all sides, appear to be good people, but overwhelmed with the business side of running a successful barrel making business.
