I knew I had heard of it being done like that before, I didn't know much about the bench rest crowd but it seems like they do it often. I found a Stevens 200 yesterday in .223 for about $300.00, I might pick it up and change out the bolt head and barrel. Any Remy or Rugers I have come across are more expensive to start with so the Stevens/Savage seems the more economical route.
