I had the impression that BHW had done it both ways previously, calling the bolts Type 1 and Type 2.

They have done both. Last time I consulted with BHW on it, last week, they had gone to a default TYPE I , 0.125, but would do the TYPE II , 0.135 Grendel depth, on order. The fast twist rate is 1:8. All of my LBC cases guns, six of them, are done with the TYPE I. In fact I have a new 264 LBC bull barrel upper arriving tomorrow built by RPG for my 1000 yard quest.

I believe the TYPE I default came about from the near impossibility for customers in getting the Grendel bolts. Being on their Pro Staff gives me a pretty good pipeline when questions arise.
