OK, I returned to the range today with 5-rounds of the 26.5 XBR load that shot very well and another 5-round load of 27.5 that did not shoot too well. The only difference was that on both of the new loads I set the OAL at 2.250. The results were interesting.....an confusing.
I should preface the following results with the fact that I only fired one fouling shot from a very clean bore before testing the following loads. The 26.5 grain XBR load that shot well when the bullet was on the lands did not like the jump and the group opened to about 1.5". The 5-shot 27.5 grain XBR load is the one that confuses me. The first two shots were about 1-inch apart, and one inch to the left of the bull. The next three rounds were one ragged hole, dead center in the bullseye. The X is where 3-rounds went and the o represents the other two rounds.

Maybe I should have fired more than one fouling shot? WTH....any guesses about this one. I may try to load a few more at 2.255. Any input, suggestions? I can't find any AA2025 at the moment so I will have to make the best of the XBR loads.
