I think that is close to the mark.

It is also interesting that Hitler diverted effort on advancing propeller-driven aircraft in favor of jets. He also wanted that HUGE next step. Hence, there wasn't much improvement in his propeller driven aircraft from 1939 on. There was speculation among experienced aerodynamic engineers that, had Hitlers' engineers been allowed to proceed with incremental improvements, the outcome of the war would have been different.
